Supporting Awareness and Understanding of Lung Cancer

We are proud to see Dr Laird Cameron representing New Zealand's oncology community in a recent episode of Paddy Gower Has Issues, which explored the impact of lung cancer and the challenges faced by patients and healthcare professionals.

As a Medical Oncologist (including at Canopy Cancer Care), Dr Laird Cameron has a special interest in lung cancer and is dedicated to improving outcomes for patients through evidence-based treatment, research, and education. Every day, he works alongside patients and their whānau, helping them navigate what can often be a complex and challenging diagnosis.

Lung cancer remains one of New Zealand's most significant health challenges. Increasing awareness, encouraging earlier diagnosis, and improving understanding of available treatment options all play an important role in improving patient outcomes.

We are encouraged to see experienced clinicians like Dr Laird Cameron contributing to important public conversations about cancer care, helping to educate New Zealanders and raise awareness of lung cancer symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment. Through advances in cancer treatment, many patients now have access to more personalised and effective therapies than ever before.
